Central Trenching Inc. was originally incorporated in Minot, North Dakota, in 1979. After a period under different ownership, CTI was re-established in 2005 and has been growing ever since. What began as a trenching and underground utility contractor has expanded into a multi-division operation. Today, CTI offers underground construction services, including directional drilling, plowing, and hydrovac; hydraulic repair and fabrication; welding and machining; and drill bit manufacturing and tooling distribution through our International Tool of North Dakota division. Our name reflects our roots — but our capabilities have grown well beyond where we started.
Directional drilling, plowing, and hydrovac services for utility installation and fiber optic deployment.
On-site and shop hydraulic repair, hose fabrication, and cylinder rebuilding for heavy equipment.
Custom fabrication, structural welding, and precision machining for industrial applications.
CTI-manufactured ITC Skaggs bits, reamers, swivels, duck bills, and Vermeer/Ditch Witch compatible tooling.
We work with a wide range of clients across North Dakota and the surrounding region. On the underground construction side, our customers include electric and telecommunications utilities, municipalities, oil and gas companies, and general contractors who need directional drilling, plowing, or hydrovac services. Our hydraulic and fabrication services serve equipment owners, agricultural operations, industrial businesses, and the general public, including homeowners with equipment repair needs. Our drill bits and tooling are purchased by directional drilling contractors and procurement teams sourcing Vermeer- and Ditch Witch-compatible bits, reamers, swivels, and duck bills.
CTI is headquartered in Minot, North Dakota and primarily serves customers throughout North Dakota.
