Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) is the foundation of CTI’s underground construction business. We install product ranging from 2” to 24” in diameter for utility, pipeline, and fiber optic applications — all without open cutting the surface. Our HDD crews handle river crossings, highway and road crossings, railroad crossings, oil pad crossings, and long-distance bores across North Dakota. With one of the most capable drill fleets in the region, we match the right machine to every project.
Cable and pipe plowing is one of the most efficient methods for installing underground lines across open terrain. CTI’s plowing crews install fiber optic cable, water lines, electrical conduit, and gas lines for municipalities, utility companies, oil and gas operators, and rural customers across North Dakota. Plowing disturbs less surface than trenching, moves faster on open ground, and is ideal for long continuous runs where conditions allow. Our equipment handles a wide range of soil types and installation depths.
Hydrovac excavation uses pressurized water combined with a powerful vacuum system to safely expose underground utilities and dig precise excavations without the risk of striking buried lines. CTI’s hydrovac unit is equipped with a 1,000,000 BTU water heater, giving us full winter capability to work through frozen ground conditions common in North Dakota. We serve utility companies, municipalities, pipeline operators, and contractors who need safe, precise, non-destructive excavation.
